The 2008 Clinton Bluefish Fishing Tournament

We’re taking our fishing tournament to the next level this year, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Beacon Point Marine. We promise this year’s tournament will be our most exciting yet, with bigger and better prizes than ever before! Watch out, the competition will be fierce, are you up for the challenge?

There's still time to pre-register for this year's Clinton Bluefish Festival Fishing Tournament. With bigger cash prizes offered to the entrant who catches the biggest fish and biggest bluefish, as well as runner-up prizes including fishing gear and marine electronics, the competition promises to be fierce. Here are the rules for the 2008 Clinton Bluefish Festival Fishing Tournament

1. The first ten (10) entrants will receive a free Bluefish Festival T-Shirt.

2. Entry fee is $20 for adults and $10 for children 16 and under.

3. All fish caught must be within state creel limits.

4. Registration for the contest begins Friday, July 18th at 6 p.m. and also on Saturday, July 19th 7-8:30 a.m. at the Clinton Town Dock. You may also register at the festival on Friday, July 18th and Saturday, July 19th from 7- 8:30. Coffee and light breakfast will be provided for contestants.

5. Weigh-in of your catch will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Town Dock.

6. Participants must be present at both registration and weigh-in.

7. All pre-registered participants will receive free entry into the Bluefish Festival BOTH days.

8. Entrance fee MUST be received by July 14, 2008 to be considered pre-registered.

***One $300 prize will be awarded for the heaviest bluefish caught. One $250 prize will be awarded for the heaviest fish.

Winner will be determined by fish with the greatest weight, not length.

All decisions made by the judges and the Bluefish Festival Committee are FINAL. No appeal will be granted or allowed.

All profits of this tournament go to The Clinton Bluefish Festival Committee, which in turn are donated back to our community through annual scholarships, monetary donations and donations of products/services, or to specific projects benefiting our town.
