Clinton Bluefish Festival 2010

Vendor Information

The Clinton Bluefish Festival Committee is excited to announce plans for Clinton's 36th Bluefish Festival, to be held at the Clinton Town Hall on Friday, July 23rd and Saturday, July 24th, 2010. We have already been meeting since January of this year, and are looking forward to another fun-filled, family-oriented festival by the sea with great music, games, and food. The Clinton Bluefish Festival provides a major fund-raising opportunity for our local civic and charitable organizations, and the Bluefish Committee donates all monies raised by the Festival back to the community.

We thank all of our past vendors and welcome you back for 2010! We also welcome any new vendors who may be interested in becoming part of this year's festivities. Please review the following information and submit your application prior to April 24, 2010. Due to tremendous interest expressed by both past and potential vendors, it is highly recommended that applications for space be submitted immediately.  **IMPORTANT:   If you are a past vendor and your application is not received prior to April 24, 2010, our committee reserves the right to allow consideration to another vendor to sell the food item(s) your group was afforded exclusivity on for the prior year.

Please note that No Stink Bombs or Silly String will be allowed to be sold during this event!!!!

Space and Placement of Booths
All decisions made by the Bluefish Festival Committee 2010 with regard to booth placement are final.

Costs
The prices for this year's Clinton Bluefish Festival are as follows:  See Application.

Application for Certain Foods
As in the past, we will attempt to limit vendors from selling competing food items. Each vendor must indicate two main food items s/he would like to serve exclusively or would like to limit other vendors from selling. The Committee will do its best to accommodate your wishes. Please note that the sale of certain beverages will not be restricted to any group (except for beer and alcohol).  Everyone may serve any non-alcoholic beverage.  The minimum price to be charged for beverages is $1.00. You may charge more, for any size.  Priority in choice of food items will be given to past vendors, and then on a first-come, first-choice basis. The Clinton Bluefish Committee may, if a conflict exists, allow multiple vendors to sell the same item. The Committee will have full authority to decide the matter, and the Committee's decisions are final. If such a problem arises, all parties will be given notice of the Committee's decision and the opportunity to amend or withdraw their application without penalty of loss of deposit.

Insurance and Permits
The Clinton Bluefish Festival Committee 2010 requires all vendors to evidence minimal required levels of insurance and all applicable permits for their space.  All insurance policies should list the individual vendor and the Clinton Bluefish Committee 2009 as the beneficiaries of said policy. The value of any given policy should be for one million dollars ($1,000,000.) The Committee does not provide insurance or permits for any individual or group at the festival. Failure of any individual or group to fully comply with State guidelines regarding required permits will immediately void their application, and you will be asked to leave the premises.  If you have any questions, please contact your insurance company.

All food vendors must obtain proper permits with the Town of Clinton to serve food at the Festival. Copies of the necessary Health Department forms will be mailed to all food vendors with your confirmation letter.  Director of Health Ryan Grenon of the Clinton Health Department will inspect the food service booths prior to the opening of the festival.

Tent Rental
Although the Clinton Bluefish Festival Committee 2010 does not accept any responsibility for tent rental, it has, for your convenience, arranged for a company in Branford, Hall Rentals, to rent tents to prospective vendors at a discount. Please contact Mr. David Hall at Hall Rentals for more information at (203) 488-0383.

Parking

The Clinton Bluefish Festival is located within the boundaries of residential neighborhoods and parking is extremely scarce. The Bluefish Festival pays for NO vendor parking. Neighborhood residents typically charge $3.00 to $5.00 per day per vehicle. You park at your own risk and assume all liability in accordance with the contract provided by said parking vendor.

IMPORTANT: Please note that as our festival takes place outdoors, we are subject to weather conditions such as wind, rain, and water. It is solely your responsibility to ensure that you take necessary precautions to protect any property brought onto the festival grounds to prevent damage. The Clinton Bluefish Festival Committee will not be liable for damage to any property caused by weather or weather-related conditions.

IMPORTANT:  IT IS NOW A REQUIREMENT THAT AT LEAST ONE INDIVIDUAL  WORKING AT YOUR BOOTH BE CERTIFIED IN FOOD SAFETY, AND NEEDS TO BE PRESENT AT YOUR BOOTH AT ALL TIMES.  THIS NEW REQUIREMENT INVOLVES COMPLETING A FOOD SAFETY COURSE AND PASSING AN EXAM AS PART OF THE COURSE.  FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THIS COURSE GO TO AMERICANFOODSAFETY.COM, OR CONTACT RYAN GRENON OF THE CLINTON HEALTH DEPT.

Please note that this requirement request was made by the Health Dept., and not that of the Clinton Bluefish Festival Committee.

IMPORTANT: We  the Clinton Bluefish Festival Committee have the right to refuse any application for any reason.

IMPORTANT: New this year there is a cleanup deposit required of $50 This will be returned at end of the event after a inspection of booth area (by a committee member) is found to be clean.
